Ban on promotion to the post of Accounts Officer – News India Live

Jaipur, 1 February (HS). Rajasthan Civil Service Appellate Tribunal has put an interim stay on the promotion process for the post of Accounts Officer for the year 2023-24. Along with this, the court has asked the state government to submit its reply in the matter. The tribunal gave this order while conducting preliminary hearing on Sanjeev Yadav’s appeal. The tribunal said in its order that earlier a notice had been issued to the state government in the matter and its reply had been sought, but till now the reply has not been presented.

In the appeal, advocate Shobhit Tiwadi told the tribunal that the Finance Department is taking action for promotion to the post of Accounts Officer against the vacancies of the year 2023-24. The Administrative Department is promoting reserved category employees to general category posts as per the opinion of the Personnel Department. Whereas this opinion of the Personnel Department is against the circular of the department itself dated 11 September 2011. It was said in the appeal that the Personnel Department, in its opinion, has given permission to promote reserved category employees to the posts of unreserved category, whereas in the circular of September 11, a provision has been made for category wise promotion. In such a situation, the promotion process should be stopped. Hearing which, the tribunal has put a stay on the promotion process.
