However, if children aged between 5 years to 12 years book a separate seat or bed, the full ticket price will be charged. Although this is not the earlier rule. On 31 March 2016, the Railway Department announced that children aged between 5 years to 12 years will be charged full fare if they require a separate berth or seat in the reservation compartment.
