New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gifted projects worth more than Rs 32,000 crore to Jammu and also made a sharp attack on nepotism in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi said that today Jammu and Kashmir is changing. Development work is visible all around and now we are also getting freedom from nepotism. He said that Jammu and Kashmir has earlier been a victim of nepotism. People who worry about their families don’t worry about other people’s families.

The projects gifted by Prime Minister Modi here include infrastructure of education, health, rail, road, petroleum, aviation etc. These include 3 new IITs, 3 new IIMs and AIIMS. The Prime Minister has also inaugurated many railway projects during this period. These railway projects include Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan (about 48 km) and Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-Sangaldan section (about 185 km).

The first electric trains will be operational
During this, the Prime Minister flagged off the first electric train running between Sangaldan-Baramulla. With these rail projects, connectivity in Jammu will improve significantly. The special thing is that these railway projects are in the interest of development, employment and environment in the area.

PM Modi mentioned Article 370
Prime Minister Modi said that today we see a new Jammu and Kashmir being formed. In the last 10 years, 15 new AIIMS were approved in the country, one of them is ready for service in Jammu. PM Modi said that the biggest wall of development here was Article 370, our government has demolished it. PM Modi said that we have heard that now a film is also coming on 370, I do not know what kind of film it is, but it is possible that the earlier pain will find voice in it.

PM Modi said that where once there was silence due to bandhs and strikes, now there is hustle and bustle. The previous governments did not respect our military brothers here. PM Modi also raised the issue of One Rank One Pension here and targeted Congress. He said that our government implemented this scheme.

PM said- relation with Jammu-Jashmir is old
During this, Prime Minister Modi said that there is a 40 year old relationship with Jammu and Kashmir. I have done many programs here. I have come here many times but today I am amazed to see the love, enthusiasm and zeal of you all. This is the biggest blessing for us. I heartily thank all the people coming here under the Developed India Mission.

Prime Minister Modi said that now the time has come for the dreams of 70 years to be fulfilled in Jammu and Kashmir. We will now make Jammu and Kashmir a developed state. He said that the beneficiaries we spoke to today told us what Modi’s guarantee is. He said that earlier there used to be disappointing news from here but now the time has come to fulfill everyone’s hopes.

PM also talked to the beneficiaries
During this, the Prime Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of central welfare schemes. During this, women named Veena and Kirti told what kind of change the government schemes brought about in their lives. Both the women told that Ayushman Yojana and Self-Employment Scheme brought many changes in their families.

Lal Mohammad from Poonch told that he got a decent place to live under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Now living happily. Earlier we used to live in kutcha houses. I am a farmer. There is a lot of danger in the border areas but now we have the solace of living in permanent houses.
