Japan will give loan of 232.209 billion yen for nine projects in India


New Delhi. The Government of Japan has expressed its commitment to provide a loan of 232.20 billion yen (about Rs 12,827 crore) for 9 projects related to different sectors in India. .

India and Japan have signed agreements worth 232.209 billion JPY for the development of nine projects in various sectors, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. Notes in this regard were exchanged between Vikas Sheel, Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Union Finance Ministry, and Suzuki Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to India.

According to the ministry, these projects include road network connectivity in the Northeast, project to promote start-ups and innovation in Telangana, construction of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road, promotion of eco-friendly horticulture in Haryana and climate change response and ecosystem in Rajasthan. Projects related to improving services are included.

It is noteworthy that India and Japan have a long and fruitful history of bilateral development cooperation since 1958. Economic partnership, a key pillar of India-Japan relations, has seen steady progress over the past few years. The exchange of approval of loans for these nine important projects will further strengthen the strategic and global partnership between India and Japan.
