Prove allegations within 24 hours otherwise prepared face consequences Shubhendu challenge DGP


Kolkata. Messageless violence in West Bengal has now taken a new turn. The case of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari calling a Sikh IPS officer a Khalistani has now reached the court. On these allegations against him, the officer challenged the ADG (West Bengal) to prove the allegations within the next 24 hours otherwise be prepared to face the consequences.

Officer challenged ADG
BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya gave this information while posting on social media platform X. He said, “Shubhendu Adhikari has challenged the ADG to prove within 24 hours the allegation against him of calling the Sikh police officer a Khalistani. Otherwise they should be ready to face the consequences. West Bengal Police, which is the only saving grace of Mamata Banerjee, is now collapsing.”

A Sikh IAS officer was deployed in Dhamkhali to prevent senior West Bengal BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari from visiting Sandeshkhali in South 24 Parganas. During this time, Agnimitra Paul was also with the officer. He claimed that the police officers were not performing their duties.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also got angry at BJP on this matter. He said that they (BJP) think that all Sikhs wearing turban are Khalistani. Posting on Instagram, Mamata said, “Today BJP’s divisive politics has shamelessly crossed constitutional limits. According to BJP, all the turban wearing persons are Khalistani. He has also posted a video with this post. Condemning this incident, Mamata Banerjee said that she will take appropriate action on this matter.

Sikh IPS officer called Khalistani
Sikh IPS officer Jaspreet Singh, deployed to maintain law and order in Sandeshkhali, claimed that BJP workers accompanying Shubhendu Adhikari called him Khalistani. He told BJP workers, “I am doing my duty. Why are you targeting my religion?” People of the Sikh community demonstrated against the BJP state headquarters in Kolkata and its office in Asansol in protest against calling the police officer a Khalistani.

What is Sandeshkhali controversy
Sandeshkhali, a village located in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, is witnessing huge protests these days. In fact, the women of the village had recently alleged that TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh and other TMC leaders had taken over their lands and some women had also accused TMC leaders of sexual exploitation. Women protested in Sandeshkhali regarding this. BJP workers are also protesting in Sandeshkhali. Shahjahan Sheikh is an accused in the ration scam and Shahjahan Sheikh is also an accused in the attack on the ED team recently. Whereas Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has accused BJP of doing politics on this issue.
