Vikrant Massey controversial comment Shriram-Sita went viral had apologized

Mumbai: Vikrant Massey is in the news these days and he has been giving interviews one after the other since the huge success of his film 12 Fails. Sometimes he tells about his initial struggle and sometimes he mentions his old mistake. Recently the actor has apologized for his old tweet containing cartoons of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita.

Actually, Vikrant Massey had shared a tweet in April 2018 in which an editorial cartoon was shown. In this cartoon, Sita was shown commenting on Ram devotees. This post resurfaced recently and Vikrant had to face trolls for sharing it. In such a situation, all the praise he had earned from people through his 12 failures has now turned against him. Therefore, after continuous protests on social media, Vikrant removed the post and apologized to the Hindu community.

The actor wrote in his latest post, ‘Through one of my tweets in 2018, I want to say a few words, it was never my intention to hurt, defame or insult the Hindu community. But as soon as I think about a tweet made in jest, I realize my own mistake. The same thing could have been said without including the cartoon published in the newspaper.

Vikrant said in a new tweet on February 20, ‘I would like to most humbly apologize to all those who have been hurt, as you all know by now, that I have the highest possible respect for all faiths, beliefs and religions. I do. We all grow up with time and reflect on our mistakes.

Vikrant’s indecent comment regarding Ram-Sita cartoon: It is known that in the year 2018, Vikrant had shared Lord Ram-Sita political cartoon in relation to Kathua and Unnao rape cases, which was making headlines at that time. In the cartoon, Goddess Sita, holding a newspaper in her hand, was seen telling about Lord Ram. The caption of this post read, ‘I am very happy that I was kidnapped by Ravana and not by your devotees.’

Along with this post, Vikrant wrote in the caption, ‘Half-baked potatoes and half-baked nationalists will only cause stomach ache.’ As soon as this old post of the actor went viral, people got angry and started trolling the actor for making fun of religion and started speaking against him.

Vikrant Massey’s views on religion: Recently, Vikrant came into limelight when he revealed that his brother had become a Muslim at the age of 17. He said that his mother is a Sikhi and his father is a church-going Christian. Speaking on a podcast, Vikrant said, ‘From a young age, I have seen a lot of arguments related to religion and spirituality. After seeing this, I set out on my own quest and started wondering what religion really is. It is man-made.
