Court sent two accused to 4 days ED custody in case of irregularities in Delhi Jal Board tender.

New Delhi, 01 February (HS). Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has sent two accused arrested in the case related to irregularities in Delhi Jal Board tender to ED custody for four days. The ED had produced both of them in the court, after which an order was given to send them to ED custody.

The court had ordered to send retired chief engineer Jagdish Arora and contractor Anil Aggarwal to ED custody. Both the accused were arrested by ED on January 31. After presenting both, the ED had demanded seven days’ custody. Advocates Manish Jain and Ishan Bainsla, appearing for the ED, said that both have to be interrogated in relation to the digital data found during the investigation. ED told the court that summons have also been issued to some other people in this case. Both the accused have to be interrogated by making them sit face to face with other people.

According to the ED, on September 18, 2018, both the accused had issued a contract for Delhi Jal Board’s Electromagnet Flow Meter to M/s NKG Infrastructure Limited for its five-year operation. This contract was for Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (SITC) work. This contract was worth more than Rs 38 crore. According to ED, the company which was given this contract did not meet the technical standards. In exchange for this contract, the accused had taken Rs 3 crore from NKG Infrastructure Limited and M/s Integral Scrooge Industries. NKG Infrastructure Limited had given its contract to M/s Integral Screws Limited. Anil Aggarwal is the proprietorship firm of Integral Screws Limited.
