Jack Leach ruled out from IND vs ENG 2nd Test : Before the second test match between India and England, the English team has suffered a big setback. The team’s experienced spinner Jack Leach has been ruled out of the second Test match to be held in Visakhapatnam. England captain Ben Stokes confirmed this yesterday. Jack Leach suffered a knee injury during the Hyderabad Test. He was seen in pain throughout the test match. Leach bowled only short spells in the first innings and just 10 overs in the second innings and took the important wicket of Shreyas Iyer. Stokes also hinted at a possible debut for young spinner Shoaib Bashir, who missed the Hyderabad Test due to a delay in visa clearance.

Captain Ben Stokes said, “He (Jack Leach) is out of the second Test. Unfortunately, he has developed a hematoma in his leg. It’s a big shame for us and Jack Leach, he’s been out of the team for a long time.” He was suffering from a back injury. That injury came back and played the first match… obviously it’s disappointing. But we are assessing it day by day. The medical team is monitoring and hopefully it is not too serious and will not continue, ruling him out of the series for a long time.”
Rehan Ahmed’s card may be cut
Leach’s absence could open doors for off-spinner Shoaib Bashir. Bashir, who reached India late due to visa delay, is all set to make his debut for England. England’s strategy will be to go with three spinners and one fast bowler in the second test, in which Joe Root will play the role of the fourth spinner. If England plays two fast bowlers considering the pitch of Visakhapatnam, then Rehan Ahmed’s card may be cut.
