Inflation shock on budget day, big increase in gas cylinder prices – News India Live


Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget in Parliament today. Even before this, the country has faced the shock of inflation, in fact due to oil marketing companies, 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become expensive (LPG Cylinder Price Hike). According to the website of IOCL, its prices have been increased by Rs 14, after which the price of commercial cylinder in the capital Delhi has become Rs 1769.50. The new rates are effective today, February 1, 2024.

19 kg cylinder becomes costlier

After the change, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder in Delhi (Delhi LPG Cylinder Price) has increased from Rs 1755.50 to Rs 1769.50. Talking about other metros, the price of a cylinder in Kolkata (Kolkata LPG Cylinder Price) has increased from Rs 1869.00 to Rs 1887. The commercial cylinder which was earlier available for Rs 1708 in Mumbai, will now be available for Rs 1723. Whereas in Chennai its price has increased from Rs 1924.50 to Rs 1937.

There was some relief last month

Last January 1, 2024, some relief was given in the price of 19 kg cylinder. Oil marketing companies have reduced the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders. After which the first commercial gas cylinder from Delhi to Mumbai has become cheaper by Rs 1.50 to Rs 4.50. After last month’s cut, the price of 19 kg cylinder has become Rs 1755.50 in Delhi and Rs 1708 in Mumbai.

There is no change in domestic cylinder prices

The prices of commercial gas cylinders have been increased, while the prices of domestic gas cylinders have remained stable. A 14 kg LPG cylinder is available for Rs 903 in Delhi, Rs 929 in Kolkata, Rs 902.50 in Mumbai and Rs 918.50 in Chennai. Domestic gas cylinder prices have been stable for a long time.

Interim budget to be presented at 11 am

It is noteworthy that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the sixth budget of her tenure in Parliament at 11 am today. This will be the last i.e. interim budget of the second term of the Modi government. Actually, Lok Sabha elections are to be held this year and the entire budget will be given by the new government formed after the elections.
