Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal gets fitness clearance, ready to return to Ranji Trophy – News India Live


New Delhi, 6 February (HS). Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal has received fitness clearance after missing the Ranji Trophy match against Railways due to medical issues.

Mayank was admitted to the hospital last week after he vomited and felt uneasy after drinking water from a bottle during a flight.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Mayank is now fit and fine and has no major problems.

After the incident, Karnataka team manager, on behalf of Mayank, had also requested Tripura Police to investigate the incident.

His return will be a big boost for Karnataka as he has been a key player in domestic cricket this season. In the current Ranji Trophy, he has scored two centuries and one half-century.

With Mayank out and Devdutt Padikkal completing his commitments with India A, Karnataka escaped defeat at the hands of Railways.

Nickin Jose led the team in Mayank’s absence. In the first innings, Karnataka team got bundled out for 174 runs and then in the second innings the team achieved the target of 226 runs with only one wicket remaining. Manish Pandey (67 not out) played an important role in Karnataka’s victory.
