Voting for the National Assembly is going to be held in Pakistan on 8 February. Elections have become interesting in Pakistan, which has a population of about 24 crores. Because, Imran Khan is in jail and Nawaz Sharif has returned home after four years. On the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto has also entered the field with full force. In such a situation, out of 272 seats, there are 8 seats where the electoral battle has become very interesting.

Lahore- Seat No. 127

Benazir Bhutto’s son and Pakistan People’s Party president Bilawal Bhutto is contesting from seat number 127 in Lahore this time, where he is pitted against PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar and independent candidate Chaudhary Shabbir Gujjar. Apart from this seat, Bilawal is also contesting from two other seats in Sindh province.

Lahore- Seat No. 130

The former PM of Pakistan has returned home after four years and this time he is trying his luck from seat number 130 of Lahore. Dr. Yasmin Rashid of Imran Khan’s party is contesting against Nawaz Sharif on this seat. Rashid is a former provincial health minister. Apart from Lahore, Nawaz Sharif is also contesting from Mansehra seat.

Lahore- Seat No. 119

Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz is contesting general elections for the first time and is contesting from seat number 119 of Lahore. On this seat, Maryam is contesting against PTI’s Mian Abad Farooq and PPP’s Iftakhar Shahid.

Dera Ismail Khan- Seat No. 44

There is a contest between three leaders on seat number 44 of Dera Ismail Khan. On this, Maulana Fazlur Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal is in the fray, against whom leader and former minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Faisal Karim Kundi of PPP are contesting. In the 2018 elections, Gandapur had defeated Fazlur Rehman by a huge margin.

Lahore- Seat No. 122

PML has fielded Khawaja Saad Rafiq from seat number 122 in its stronghold Lahore. Saad’s rival is PTI chief Latif Khosa, who has fought several major cases on behalf of Imran Khan.

Multan- Seat No. 151

Mehar Bano Qureshi, daughter of former minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, is contesting elections this time from seat number 151 of Multan. Opposite Mehar is Ali Musa Gilani, son of former PM Yousuf Raza Gilani. The competition between the two is very interesting.

Rawalpindi- Seat No. 56

The political fight between Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid and PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi is an old one. This time too both are facing each other and are trying their luck from seat number 56 of Rawalpindi.
