New Delhi, 3 February (HS). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has busted the network of cross-border smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives. Along with this, NIA has arrested a main accused in the case. The accused has been identified as Lalangaihouma, a resident of Mamit area of ​​Mizoram.

According to the NIA, the main accused, Lalnagaihoma, was caught from Aizawl, Mizoram following inputs about the operation of a large-scale illegal arms and ammunition supply network in some north-eastern states of India. The accused was arrested on Thursday.

The NIA in its statement has said that this key accused along with others was engaged in smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosive materials not only in the north-eastern states but also across the border. He was working closely with various operatives, including insurgent groups based across the international border.
