Chandigarh. Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit resigned “Due to Personal Reasons”. There was a dispute going on between Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for some time, the Governor had accused the AAP government of working against the Constitution and not responding to his letters.
Let us tell you that there were differences between the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab and the Governor on many matters. The Mann government had reached the Supreme Court against the Governor. Two days ago also, CM Mann had targeted the Governor and said that the Governor harasses us. There is an elected government in the state. Either the elected will rule here or the selected will rule. Elected rule prevails in democracy, but many people have developed the habit of selected rule. Let us tell you that Bhagwant Mann was attacking BJP regarding the Mayor elections in Chandigarh. He said that every now and then the Governor says that this is legal and this is illegal. The Governor harasses Mamata Didi a lot in Bengal and us in Punjab.
The Mann government had reached the Supreme Court in the matter of not getting the approval of the Governor despite the bills being passed in the Assembly. After this the Governor also approved three bills. Many times the Governor had also talked about taking legal action against Bhagwant Mann. However, both of them met recently on the occasion of Republic Day. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann sang a song in front of the Governor and the Governor also appreciated him.
