Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana Dushyant Chautala said that till now 35 ROBs have been completed and 52 ROBs will be built in the next six months. 52 ROBs will be built in the next Six Months). Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that the state government has been engaged in strengthening the road network for the last four and a quarter years, during which 15,005 kilometers of roads were repaired and strengthened and 1,550 kilometers of new road network was created. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, the infrastructure of about 2,500 kilometers of rural roads was improved. Similarly, 1,360 km long road was improved with NABARD funds. A total of 20,399 kilometers of MDR, ODR, link roads and state highways have been improved with the help of state funds and financial assistance given by the Central Government.

The Deputy Chief Minister informed that bypasses of 12 national highways including Karnal, Ambala, Pinjore and Jhajjar have been built. Besides, approval has also been given for bypass in Jind and Uchana, work will start soon. These positive steps taken by the state government will reduce the traffic pressure in the cities and will provide relief from the problem of traffic jam. Dushyant Chautala said that due to excess of vehicles, the problem of jam persists on the road leading from Yamunanagar city towards Paonta Sahib. For this, it was requested to the Central Government that to reduce the traffic pressure in the city on this National Highway, a bypass should be built from outside Jagadhri and Yamunanagar city, for this, approval has been received from the National Highway Authority of India.

Deputy CM said that two years ago we had taken steps towards making Haryana gate-free to free Haryana from railway gates on MDR and ODR roads. For this, a blueprint for construction of ROB and RUB in the state was prepared. Till now 35 ROBs have been completed and 52 ROBs will be built in the next six months. Also, drawing and other formalities for construction of 43 ROBs have been completed. Work on these will also start soon. He expressed hope that soon all MDR and ODR roads in the state will become gate-free. Expressing gratitude for the support given by the Central Government, he said that the state has been given 2 Greenfield Expressways. Of these, one will be built from Dabwali to Panipat and the other from Hisar to Rewari (via Tosham, Badhra, Mahendragarh). Their DPR has been prepared and the process of acquiring land will soon be started under Phase-A of Bharatmala.

Dushyant Chautala informed that in the last three years, about 350 such black-spots have been identified in the state where various road accidents keep happening and people have also lost their lives. Work is going on on all these black spots. Apart from these, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also approved to fix 300 additional black-spots. He also said that in future, if any vehicle meets with an accident on the National Highways road, if any person gets injured or someone dies, then in that case, geo-tagging will be done by the police along with the PWD department along with FIR. . This will reveal the accident prone area, so that in future steps can be taken towards making ROB, RUB or closing the cut at that place. An elevated road will soon be built in Hisar at a cost of about Rs 750 crore, DPR has been prepared. Its work will start soon.

Dushyant Chautala said that from March 1, 2024, selling of country liquor in plastic bottles has been banned in the state. Haryana is the first state in the country to do so. Deputy CM, who also has the charge of Excise and Taxation Department. Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that GST collection has increased by 30 percent in the last four years. He said that the state government has so far received an increase of 16 percent in this financial year from which Rs 32 thousand 456 crore has been received as tax. He said that although the government had set a target of GST collection of Rs 36 thousand crore, there is full confidence that it will be achieved in time.

Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said that the state government had received excise tax of Rs 6361 crore in the year 2019-2020. Last year, in the excise year 2023, Rs 9687 crore tax was collected till July, whereas this time till January 28, 2024, excise tax of Rs 9232 crore has been collected. He informed that although the target for this excise year was Rs 10 thousand 500 crore, but he is hopeful that by the completion of the excise year, the state government will receive tax of Rs 11 thousand 500 crore, much more than the target.
