Kevin Pietersen: As the T20 World Cup is coming closer, everyone from cricket experts to former cricketers are making their predictions. Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has predicted that Indian batsman Shubman Gill will perform brilliantly in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He also told about the winning team.
Pietersen also talked about the prospects of the Indian team in the World Cup. According to Pietersen, India has a chance due to the World Cup being held in the West Indies, because the pitches there and India are almost similar. The Indian cricket team last won any ICC trophy in the form of Champions Trophy in 2013. All eyes are on the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Gill can become player of the tournament
Former England player Kevin Pietersen feels that Shubman Gill will perform brilliantly in this year’s T20 World Cup. When he was asked to choose a player who can take the tournament by storm. So he immediately chose the young Indian batsman Shubman Gill.
He said that Gill had performed brilliantly in the last edition of IPL. He scored 890 runs in 17 matches including three centuries. It is expected that he will perform similarly in the World Cup also.
Indian team is a strong contender
The former England batsman has indicated that India will be a strong contender for the World Cup tournament as there is not much difference between Indian conditions and Caribbean conditions. Peterson said-
“It’s really like India here. There will be wickets with very little bounce. It takes some spin, but they are beautiful wickets too.”

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who was a part of the 2010 T-20 World-winning team, while talking about the 2010 World Cup held in West Indies and England’s victory, told the media that
“Winning the World Cup against Australia in front of a crowd in Barbados in the Caribbean was very special.”
