On the last day of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Bengal, Rahul Gandhi said – BJP’s aim is to divide the country – News India Live

Kolkata, 02 February (HS). On the last day of Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in West Bengal, Rahul Gandhi has made a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. Addressing the party’s social media workers, Rahul Gandhi referred to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), saying it is a tool being used by the BJP to promote division on religious lines.

Rahul Gandhi’s comments come after Union Minister Shantanu Thakur’s announcement on January 29 that the CAA will be implemented across the country within a week.

The CAA, brought in by the BJP-led government at the Center in 2019, aims to provide Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslims, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians, who came to India before December 31, 2014 from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. To do.
