35-year-old Ajinkya Rahane last played a Test match for Team India on the West Indies tour in July. After this, he was dropped from the team against South Africa. But now he may make a comeback against England

Rahane has so far played 85 Test matches for India, scoring 5077 runs at an average of 38.46. During this period, he has scored 12 centuries and 26 half-centuries. Considering his experience, he can be included in the Indian team for the remaining matches against England in place of out-of-form Shreyas Iyer.

Team India’s star batsman Shreyas Iyer scored 27 runs with the help of 3 fours in 59 balls in the first innings of Visakhapatnam Test. He played innings of 35 and 13 runs there.

Iyer had also proved to be a flop on the South Africa tour before England. In such a situation, considering the importance of the series against England, the selectors can drop Shreyas from the team. In his place, Ajinkya Rahane can be included in the squad after a long time.
