Terrorist attack on police station in Pakistan, 10 policemen killed – News India Live


Islamabad, 05 February (HS). Ten policemen were killed in a terrorist attack on a police station in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province at around 3 am today (Monday). This terrorist attack took place at Chodwan Police Station in Tehsil Darban of Dera Ismail Khan district. Six others were injured in this attack.

According to the reports of Dawn newspaper and Geo News, the provincial government has strongly condemned this incident which took place before the general elections to be held on February 8. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Mahmood confirmed the number of casualties. This attack has increased security concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Acting Chief Minister Justice (retd) Arshad Hussain Shah condemned the attack. He expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Shah has said the government will help the bereaved in “every possible way”.

Police have said that the terrorists attacked the police station with lethal weapons at 3 am. The injured have been admitted to DHQ hospital. The terrorists surrounded the police station from all sides, threw grenades and opened fire. According to the police, security forces have cordoned off the area. The last rites of the martyred policemen will be performed in the police lines.
