New Delhi. Worship is taking place in the premises of Gyanvapi Mosque located in Varanasi after 31 years. On Thursday (February 1) morning, people reached the basement for worship. The Hindu side got a big relief from the District Court of Varanasi on Wednesday (January 31), when the court ordered to give Hindus the right to worship in the basement present in the premises. Hindus have got the right to worship in the basement of Vyas ji of Gyanvapi.

The court directed the District Magistrate of Varanasi to make arrangements for the puja to be conducted through a priest nominated by the Hindu side and the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust. On January 17, the Varanasi District Court appointed the District Magistrate as the receiver and directed him to keep the basement safe and not make any changes in it. On January 24, the district administration team under the leadership of Additional District Magistrate Prakash Chandra completed the proceedings regarding taking the DM into their custody by making him the receiver of the basement.

Court order followed: DM
In the Gyanvapi case, Varanasi DM S Rajalingam spoke to the media after the court gave permission to the Hindu side to worship in ‘Vyas Ka Tahkhana’. He was asked about opening the way by removing the barricades in front of Nandi Maharaj who was seated in front of the Vajukhana. On this he said, ‘The court order has been followed.’ At present, security around the Gyanvapi campus has also been tightened. After getting permission for the puja, a devotee present in the complex said, we are very happy and emotional with the court order. There is no limit to our happiness.

Owaisi expressed grief over the court’s decision
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi raised questions on the decision of the Varanasi court and said that Wednesday was the last day of the judge’s retirement. A receiver was appointed on 17 January. The entire case was already decided. He said that this is a complete violation of the Places of Worship Act. Until Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government breaks its silence on this Act, such things will continue to happen.

AIMIM Chief said that you yourself are saying that nothing was happening there after 1993. 30 days should have been given for appeal. The permission given for worship in the basement of the mosque is completely wrong. He even said that the incident of December 6 could happen again. Let us tell you that on December 6, 1992, Babri Masjid located in Ayodhya was demolished.
